Jasami Publishing is a dream come true. Working with new writers, and our young talented team is an inspiration on a daily basis. I have worked in international events and other creative projects throughout my life, but this is the most interesting challenge as it is a personal dedication. Publishing novels, children's stories, and photography books all the while working to provide funding to local charities and schools has been a life long aspiration, and I am delighted to be a part of this fantastic team.
Graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree from the University of Paisley, I have spent the past 15 years working in finance. A career path that was destined to be right from my youngest days where I always demonstrated a passion for counting money, especially my own! I have lived in Scotland all my days and have an affinity with several local charities. When not working my major passion is football, however, I also enjoy travelling and listening to music.
I’ve always had a passion for creative industries. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in commercial music at UWS I went on to work as a promoter showcasing some of Scotland’s up and coming talent, and also as a musician, supporting some of my favourite artists throughout the UK. I am really excited to be part of this team, and working with a variety of clients and making dreams become a reality.
Joy has always been passionate about being able to capture a moment in a picture that will be preserved for years to come. She works in both film and digital photographs and loves to try new styles. Her artistic talents and Glasgow based images have enhanced Jasami's social media. Her photographic talent led to her first publication Journeys With Joy.
Holly studied Illustration at Falmouth University, and is currently based in Southampton. She enjoys nature and travelling from which she takes inspiration for her art. You can follow her on Instagram @hollymrichards.
As a retired language teacher and voracious reader, I feel extremely fortunate to be involved with Jasami Publishing. Having the opportunity to support new, aspiring authors in following their dreams to publication is exciting and a great privilege, if a little daunting. While always being sensitive to the authors’ feeling, I know that I must be honest in my comments and suggestions. I really relish receiving new books and love seeing the finished product.
I'm very excited to be a part of the Jasami family because creating and sharing stories is my passion--anywhere I can help a story be told is a place I want to be! As a third-year English Literature student at the University of Glasgow, you might be able to say my life revolves around literature, but I'm also passionate about all things creative. In the long run, my goal is to be a published author and a cog in helping others share their works and stories to hopefully change the world through words!
I am a recent graduate of the University of Glasgow with a joint MA in English and Scottish Literature (Honours). Currently, I am undertaking an MLitt postgraduate degree in Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling. I have a passion for all things to do with marketing and Scottish literature. Interning at Jasami is an amazing opportunity and I am looking forward to working with the team and helping promote Jasami’s authors. I can be found on Twitter @_sarahglen
I’m currently studying joint honours English Literature and Film & TV at the University of Glasgow. As a social media and marketing intern, I will be producing and editing video content for Jasami’s YouTube channel and Instagram page. I’m really excited to become a part of the team and can’t wait to further develop and enhance my skills as a filmmaker.
As literature has been a lifelong love of mine, I’m very excited to intern at Jasami and be directly involved in the encouraging creative environment it offers aspiring writers. Both reading and writing feel like a natural extension of me and, as a current English Literature student at University of Glasgow, publishing is an avenue I have always had great interest in, and helping others cultivate their stories is a privileged opportunity. Though reading and writing are my main preoccupation, I’m also an avid (home!) cook and baker, because I always like to have something sweet in one hand as I hold my book in the other.
Jasami note - Erin is also working on review editing.
I’ve always been an avid reader and it soon became clear that publishing was the way for me to go in life. My family live in Germany, and I came over to Scotland to study English Language and Literature at Edinburgh University, before moving on to my current postgraduate Publishing course at Edinburgh Napier University. My dream is to become an editor and having the opportunity to work with the Jasami team is bringing me one step closer to that dream!
As an English Literature student and someone who has always loved reading, I am delighted to be on the Jasami team! The creative arts have always been very important to me and I can’t imagine working within any other sector; helping people foster their creations and promoting artistic expression is something that is core in my personal ethos. When I’m not reading or editing my essays, I can normally be found floating around Glasgow taking photos on my film camera or at any local music scene gig!
While I haven’t taken the traditional route into the publishing world books have been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember. I have always worked within the creative sector but since discovering the publishing world I can’t imagine being anywhere else! I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in my final year and will hopefully be going to do a postgraduate certificate in Publishing next year! I am so incredibly thrilled and grateful to be joining the Jasami team and to be able to learn and work alongside everyone.
Currently an MSc Publishing student at Edinburgh Napier University with an MA in Sociology from the University of Aberdeen. I am a lover of all things book culture and I found my one true calling in life when I realised that I wanted to work in book publishing full-time within publicity or marketing. As a social media intern I will be working on marketing campaigns, promoting Jasami authors and titles.
Since graduating from the University of Glasgow with an Art History degree in the summer of 2020, I’ve been doing what I can to learn about the publishing industry, with the aim of increasing the accessibility of the arts. Working with Jasami to help edit, critique, and promote new and aspiring authors and has given me a fantastic look at a variety of tasks as well as put me on track to do just that.
